Westfield Area Y Hosts 'The Heart and Art of Caregiving'
The Westfield Area Y will host a free support group on Wednesday, September 30.

The Westfield Area Y will host a free support group on Wednesday, September 30. The event will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. and run until 2:15 p.m. at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street. The topic “The Heart and Art of Caregiving” will be peer-led by Marie and Bob Boswell.
Marie has Parkinson’s and her husband is the caregiver. She is the head of the North Jersey Parkinson’s support group. They saw the need for better and deeper communication to strengthen their relationship while dealing with the disease and trying to live their individual lives.

This support group for both patients and caregivers explores ways to make your unique relationship a source for personal growth using the simple tools of communication, openness, understanding and compassion. New and refreshing ideas to unite two individuals in a nurturing situation to benefit both in surprisingly powerful ways will be also be discussed.
