Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Compete in Fall Invitationals

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Swim Team had a strong start to the season at two Fall invitationals. Both meets resulted in swimmers achieving personal bests, as well as State, Silver, and Bronze Championship times.

On Nov. 5, the team competed at the Ocean County YMCA's 42nd Annual Great Turkey Invitational in Toms River. This meet included teams from across New Jersey and Maryland.

The following Devilfish earned top 10 finishes at the meet:

Girls 9-10: Zoe Matera (6th 100 Free, 2nd 50 Breast, Snow Zimmerman (5th 100 Free, 1st 100 Back, 4th 50 Breast).

Boys 9-10: Calvin Giordano (8th 50 Breast), Claire Seeder (10th 100 Back, 9th 50 Fly).

Girls 11-12: Olivia Babeu (8th 200 Breast, 10th 50 Fly), Gemma Giordano (7th 100 Back. 2nd 50 Fly), Olivia Giuliano (7th 200 Fly), Jane Reichart (8th 100 Back), Leona Rogers (2nd 50 Breast, 10th 200 IM), Victoria Sidorov (10th 50 Breast).

Girls 13-14: Haley Concannon (5th 100 Breast), Daniella Eriksson (7th 100 Free, 3rd 100 Breast, 10th 200 IM), Kaylie Gao (6th 200 Back, 8th 200 IM).

Boys 13-14: Jonathan Peterson (3rd 100 Free, 10th 100 Breast, 7th 200 IM).

Girls 15 & Over: Anisha Ojha (8th 50 Free, 10th 100 Back).

Followed by a strong performance at Hunterdon County YMCA's Autumn Challenge Nov. 17 - 19 at the Raritan Bay YMCA in Perth Amboy.
