Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Compete At State Championships

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish competed in the 2024 NJ YMCA 13 & Over State Championship at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania from March 7 to 10.

The 13 & Over State Championship Team consisted of 32 swimmers: Alex Giangone, Jonathan Peterson, James Kavanagh. Kaylie Gao, Spencer Grauch, Daniella Eriksson, Jacob Galczynski, James Slettland, Ben Lane, Dima Batkivskyi, Zadie Zimmerman, Kevin O'Neill, Jayden Liu, Haley Concannon, Sarah Reed, Joe Kiley, Max Matera, Sahasra Botcha, Avery Levitt, Charlotte Ouellette, Hailey Walker, Danny Pierce, Mason Liu, Patrick Miller, Cole Sharkey, Hudson Wilcomes, Anisha Ojha, Artem Dobrovolskyi, Ted Crall, Emily Kapuuscinski, Dylan Altman, and Charlie Jeckell.

Several Devilfish team records were broken at this meet including Alex Giangone (Boys 13-14 200 Fly), Danny Pierce (Boys 15& Over 200 Back), and James Kavanagh, Jacob Galczynski, Alex Giangone, and Jonathan Peterson (Boys 13-14 400 Free Relay).
