Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Swim Team Finish 2023 Season Strong

8 members of the Westfield Area YMCA Swim Team qualified for the National Team and competed at the YMCA Long Course National Championships.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Congratulations to the Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Swim Team on a strong finish to their 2023 long-course swim season.

Eight members of the Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Swim Team qualified for the National Team and competed at the YMCA Long Course National Championships July 25-29 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.

The Devilfish 2023 YMCA Long Course National Championships was comprised of Dylan Altman, Caitlin Farago, Emily Kapuscinski, Mason Liu, Patrick Miller, Anisha Ojha, Danny Pierce, and Olivia Willemsen.

Five members of the team qualified for Eastern Zone Long Course Age Group Championships August 2-5 in Richmond, VA. Representing the Devilfish on the New Jersey Swimming Team were Daniella Ericksson, Alex Giangone, and Kaylie Gao.

Throughout the season, 6 Devilfish Long Course records were broken. Congratulations to our new record holders: Danielle Eriksson (1500 Free), Alex Giangone (200 Fly), Charlotte Ouellette (200 Fly, 400 Free), Danny Pierce (200 Back), and James Sletteland (100 Fly).

The Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish is a year-round developmental and competitive program that provides a high level of training and professional instruction for swimmers ages 6-18.
