Westfield Boys Swim Team Honored For 29th State Championship Win

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield High School Boys Swim Team was honored by the Town Council for their recent state championship win.

Acting Mayor Linda Habgood read a proclamation at the Tuesday Council meeting honoring the team.

"I’ve had the good fortune of coming to 12 of these over the years, and I’ve said it before,e but I can say it with certainty now. This is the greatest Westfield swim team in school history," said Coach Jeff Knight. "They really exemplify the best of Westfield. Their hard work and dedication are a testament to them, their parents, and just the Town and the culture it provides."

On Feb. 23, the Westfield High School Boys Swim Team won their third consecutive NJSIAA Group A title, the team’s 29th state championship in the program’s history, the most state wins for any program in New Jersey.

On the way to winning the state championship, the team posted a perfect record for the third year in a row, finishing the season on a 45-win streak.

The team also won the Union County Championship, the North 2 Public A Sectional title and finished the 2024-2025 season ranked #1 in the State by NJ.com.
