Westfield Coffee Shop Owner To Appear On Lifetime Reality T.V. Show

Most known for brewing flavorful coffees from around the world, the local businessman will soon appear on a new reality dating show.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield and Summit locals will see a familiar face on their screens this August, as a local coffee shop owner will make his reality T.V. show debut.

Ahrre Maros, the owner of Ahrre's Coffee Roastery in Westfield and Summit, will appear on a new Lifetime original series — "Five Guys A Week."

The new dating show fast forwards through the "getting to know you" part of a relationship, as one single girl invites five guys who are looking for love to move into her home and live with her for a week — all at the same time.

This brand new Lifetime Television show premiered on Wednesday, July 13, but Maros said his episode won't air until Aug. 3rd at 10 p.m.

While Maros may soon make it big time on reality television, most people know him as the local coffee entrepreneur who serves blends from around the world. Maros recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his Ahrre's Coffee company in Feb. of 2020.

As a teenager growing up in Summit in the 1970s, Maros and a friend earned a living by cleaning chimneys around town. That was until he discovered his love for coffee.

After attending college at the University of California at Santa Cruz, he moved to Berkeley to live with a girlfriend where he discovered Peet's Coffee. This is eventually what inspired him to launch his own coffee business.

Maros opened his first shop in Cranford on Feb. 10, 1990. He then closed it four years later because he had also opened a shop in Westfield and was essentially competing with himself. He later went on to open a shop in 1993 in Summit.

The Summit location is now inside another business — the Wine List and Marketplace. The Westfield headquarters is still located on 104 Elm Street.

Maros's famous slogan for the businesses is "Ahrre's is better than theirs!"

Ahrre's also offers a variety of coffee grounds for sale — from Latin American regional coffees to Indonesian coffees and special seasonal blends. You can check out all the options on Ahrre's website.
