Westfield Falls to No. 1 Ridgewood in State Semis
Blue Devils jump out to early lead before being held scoreless in the second half.
The Ridgewood girls lacrosse team beat back a competitive Westfield team, winning by 10 on a dreary Friday in Ridgewood. The Maroons fell behind 3-1 early but fought back and came away with a 14-4 win over the Blue Devils in the semifinals of the NJSIAA tournament.
"They came out and had a really good start. We just had to adjust, get settled and get our offense started," said Ridgewood coach Karla Mixon.
Ridgewood didn't allow a single second half goal thanks to some stout defense and clutch goalkeeping from Zoe Ferguson.
