Westfield Fire Station Briefly Affected By Comcast Outages

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield officials said the station two-fire house was the only facility affected by the national Comcast Xfinity outages on Tuesday.

Officials said the outage was brief and did not affect emergency services.

A major outage across the nation, including in New Jersey and Pennslyvania, is impacting Comcast Xfinity customers' phones, internet and television services on Tuesday morning.

Multiple police departments and municipalities in the state are reporting issues to their phone service as a result, including Scotch Plains and Roselle in Union County.

911 is still working or residents who need to call for an emergency.

It is unclear what caused the outage.
