Westfield Foundation Celebrates 40th Anniversary at Annual Meeting

The Westfield Foundation is celebrating its anniversary at its annual meeting next month.

The Westfield Foundation will be celebrating its 40th anniversary at its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 5.

The meeting will be held in the Westfield Memorial Library meeting room, 550 E. Broad St., at 7 p.m. next week. The meeting will feature a number of grant recipients, community and foundation members, and guest speakers, including Russ Triolo, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Union County, and Jonathan Phillips and Jackie Park Albaum from Groundwork Elizabeth, the foundation said.

In the first quarter of 2015, the Westfield Foundation issued more than $43,000 to eight local organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, The Westfield Community Players, Camp Speers-Eljabar, Alzheimer’s Association, Groundwork Elizabeth and more, the Foundation said. The funds will be used to fund numerous projects or causes such as summer camp scholarships for 12 local students, an upgraded sprinkler system for a local theater, funding for a caregiver’s respite program and more.

The Westfield Foundation is ”a local organization with deep roots in the community” and was founded in 1975, according to its website. It offers grants and funds to help invest in projects and causes.
