Westfield High School Senior Wins Musical Club Poster Contest

Westfield High School Senior, Claudia Savickas, is the winner of a poster contest sponsored by the Musical Club of Westfield.

Her artwork was selected for the program cover of the Club’s Centennial Concert scheduled for Sunday, November 22. Claudia, who has been an art student of Westfield High School teacher Annora Happe-Conway for three years, is shown receiving a $200 prize for her award-winning poster from (l-r) Musical Club of Westfield President Beverly Shea and Scholarship Chair Drude Crane.

The Club is celebrating its 100th year with a Scholarship Concert, which is open to the public, on November 22, at the First Baptist Church, 170 Elm Street.

Founded in 1915, the Musical Club of Westfield has bestowed scholarships to promising young musicians since 1922 and has helped over 140 different students over the past 93 years.
