Westfield Ranked Among 12 Best Small Towns In NJ: Travel + Leisure
With its charming downtown and many shopping and restaurant options, Travel + Leisure ranked Westfield as one of the best small towns in NJ.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Besides its major cities like Jersey City and Newark, New Jersey also offers many charming small towns for those looking to settle down in a more quiet neighborhood.
Travel + Leisure ranked Westfield among one of 12 best small towns in New Jersey in a recent article. Other towns that made the list include Montclair, Red Bank, West Cape May, Ridgewood, Spring Lake, Tenafly, Lambertville, Flemington, Cranbury, Bay Head and Millburn.
Located some 16 miles southwest of Manhattan, Travel + Leisure said Westfield is a "charming" town with a "colorful downtown that becomes travelers and locals alike."

With over 450 shops and businesses to offer, Travel + Leisure shouted out the following shopping destinations: The West Martini, Evalyn Dunn Gallery, Janus' Closet and Madeline Moss.
The magazine also highlighted the many coffee shops in Westfield, such as Boxwood Coffee Roasters, Ahrre's Coffee Roastery and Rock 'n' Joe.

After a day of shopping and eating, Travel + Leisure recommends taking a stroll through Mindowaskin Park.
The magazine said Westfield also hosts a slew of special events throughout the year, from the annual Pizza Run to the 2022 Sweet Sounds music festival and beyond.
Many Westfield residents have previously voiced concern over Westfield losing its "small town appeal" as the town introduces redevelopment projects, such as The Sophia on Prospect Street and Ferris Place, that could potentially bring more traffic to the town.
However, others feel that new apartments and developments will help the downtown thrive and fill vacant storefronts.
