Westfield Streets Get Major Safety Upgrade After Months-Long Project

Mayor Brindle is giving thanks to the Roads Division crew members for their efforts in making this "big milestone downtown" a reality.

WESTFIELD, NJ - The town's roadways got the final touch to their months-long makeover on Wednesday, thanks to the replacement of all of the street signs being completed.

More than 1,500 signs were replaced by the Public Works team to provide a safer environment and a more consistent feel to navigating throughout Westfield. The new signs feature a more reflective surface and larger font to help with visibility.

Mayor Shelley Brindle is giving thanks to the Roads Division crew members for their efforts in making this "big milestone downtown" a reality. The replacement of county-owned roads and intersections is scheduled to begin shortly.

The old street signs will be auctioned off in October with proceeds benefitting the Public Arts Commission.
