Westfield Tennis Tournament Raises Funds For Mental Health Awareness

The players raised over $1,500 at Tuesday's tournament. All proceeds will go to Imagine — a center for those coping with grief and loss.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield High School boys and girls tennis teams served up a charity tournament on Tuesday, raising money in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

The girls and boys varsity teams held its first-ever "Play It Forward" charity tennis tournament at Tamques Park. Collectively the players raised approximately $1,715, which they chose to donate to Imagine — a center that helps people coping with grief, loss or illness.

The teams decided on this charity in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, which took place in May.
