Wintery Mix Expected To Cause Slippery Roads In Westfield: NWS
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Westfield, warning of slippery roads, rain and sleet into Friday morning.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield residents may face a difficult commute Friday morning, as a wintery forecast is predicted for the area.
Westfield, and all of Union County, is under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service, from Thursday at 10 p.m. until Friday at 1 p.m. A mix of freezing rain and sleet is expected, as well as possible ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.

Snow before 2am, then sleet between 2am and 4am, then freezing rain and sleet after 4am. Low around 30. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday
Rain, freezing rain, and sleet before 2pm, then a slight chance of rain between 2pm and 4pm. High near 42. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. East wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
