West Orange police are investigating a Wednesday morning car accident on Kelly Drive in the township. Police cordoned off the intersection of Kelly Drive and Baxter Lane as the firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the youth, who was conscious but pinned in the car. Police could not say what injuries the youth sustained. According to an officer at the scene, the youth was travelling northbound at "a high rate of speed" when the car hit a light pole and flipped over on its side. The driver was going to be taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston once he was extricated from the vehicle. Check back with West Orange Patch for updates.
