Boys To Leaders Foundation Will Hold Fundraising Event In The Oranges

The Boys to Leaders Foundation will host its annual fundraiser and scholarship reception on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Highlawn, 1 Crest Drive in West Orange.

The annual celebration honors young men who exemplify leadership in their schools and communities. These students are recognized with the Leaders and Achievers Scholarships, and receive mentoring, leadership training, and access to a supportive professional network throughout their academic journeys.

This year's theme, Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges, Creating Change, highlights the transformative impact of leadership, mentorship, and community support. In addition to the scholarship presentations, the Boys to Leaders Foundation will recognize three community changemakers whose dedication has helped uplift and empower New Jersey’s youth.

The 2025 honorees are:

• Andrés Acebo, Interim President of NJCU – Hermano Leadership Award
• Shahod Augustin – Rising Star Award
• Programs for Parents – Organization of the Year Award

“Our goal has always been to empower young men to see their worth and recognize their potential,” said Sara Peña, Founder and President of the Boys to Leaders Foundation. “This fundraiser is a powerful reminder that when we invest in our youth, we invest in a stronger, more equitable future. I am proud of the impact we’ve made over the past twelve years - and even more excited for what’s ahead.”
