Howl-O-Ween At Turtle Back Zoo In Essex County: 2024 Halloween Events

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A “Safe Howl-O-Ween and Spooky Storytime” event will take place at the Turtle Back Zoo in Essex County on Halloween.

The family friendly event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 at the zoo, which is located at 560 Northfield Avenue in West Orange.

Admission is $3 for Zoological Society members and $5 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.TurtleBackZoo.com. Learn more here, and register here.

The zoo will close at 2 p.m. to on Oct. 31 to prepare for the event.

TRICK OR TREATING – Children are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes and go trick or treating along the zoo’s pathways. Candy stations will be set up throughout the zoo. Visitors should bring their own bag to collect candy.

SPOOKY STORYTIME – Enjoy a spooky story read by a not-too-scary costumed character, play a game and take home a creepy craft. Admission to Spooky Storytimes is by pre-registration only and there is an additional fee. When registering, choose the “Safe Howl-O-Ween with Spooky Storytime” option. Story times are available at 4:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
