Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court
As part of its case-load, the Municipal Court handled three cases scheduled for trial.

In State v. Tabu Reese, of Newark, the State charged Reese on June 4, with theft of cash from Macy's while employed as a cashier. Reese pled guilty to the charge. The Court ordered restitution of $545 and imposed a $200 fine, $33 in court costs, a $50 VCCB penalty and a $75 safe neighborhood fee.
In State v. Charles Morris, of Bethel PA, the State charged Morris on April 12, 2007, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine). Morris pled guilty to an amended charge of drug loitering. The Court imposed a $100 fine, $33 in court costs, a $50 VCCB penalty and a $75 safe neighborhood fee.
In State v. Eric Lucas, of Plainfield, the State charged Lucas on June 5, with driving while intoxicated. Lucas pled guilty to the charge. The Court revoked Lucas' licence for seven months, required his participation for 12 hours at a New Jersey Intoxicated Driver Resource Center Program, and required him to instal an ignition interlock for six months after his seven month term. The Court also imposed fines and penalties totaling $608.
