Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court
Three related marijuana cases, DWI case leads to suspension of driver's license.

In State v. David Caraballo, of West Orange, the State charged him with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, improper display or unclear plates, and throwing matter from a vehicle, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Defendant pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated; and, as part of the plea agreement, the other charges were dismissed. The Court suspended his driver's license for 7 months, required him to participate in a program for 12 hours at an Intoxicated Driving Resource Center (IDRC), and also imposed $608.00 in fines & penalties.
In State v. Lloyd Codada, of West Orange, State v. Anthony Ballard, of Irvington, and State v Aida Waller, of Montclair, the State charged the three co-defendants with possession of marijuana, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Their cases were conditionally discharged. The Court imposed on each 1 year of probation and $806.00 in fines and penalties.
