Local Students Inducted into World Language Honor Societies

West Orange High School recently held inductions for new students into the world language honor societies.

The world languages department at West Orange High School recently inducted a number of new members at the annual Honor Society Inductions.

The induction ceremonies were held at West Orange High School on Wednesday, May 20. In addition to welcoming new members, the world languages department said goodbye to graduating seniors who were previously inducted into the honor society.

To be considered for membership into the Chinese, Italian, Spanish or French Honor Society, a student must have an “A” average for three years and at least a “B” average in all other classes, according to the school district.

Inductions for each Honor Society were announced by students in both the language in which they were inducted and in English, school district officials said. Following the inductions, graduating seniors were presented with their cords for graduation on June 22.
