Lockdown Lifted At Seton Hall Prep In West Orange: ‘Campus Is Safe’
A temporary lockdown took place at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange on Wednesday morning.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A temporary lockdown took place at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange on Wednesday morning. Authorities have since declared that no legitimate threat was present and the campus is safe.
According to a message shared by Seton Hall Prep and the West Orange Police Department:
“Students, faculty, and staff responded to a lockdown message over the PA system at approximately 10:25 a.m. this morning, which was investigated by the West Orange Police Department and it was deemed that no legitimate threat was present. Police and the SHP security team have swept the building and all is safe. SHP faculty members are notifying students that it is safe to return to campus and parents, please notify your son that it is safe to return if you can get in touch with him. Please return through Door 1. Parents, if you have already picked up your son or an upperclassman has driven home, he is excused from classes for the remainder of the day. Route and train busses will run at normal times this afternoon.”
“Thank you to everyone for such a prompt and focused response, including the West Orange Police Department,” Seton Hall Prep stated.
