Weather Forecast: National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook

Rain this weekend combined with subsequent snow melt may lead to localized flooding.

With rain expected this weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region, claiming localized flooding is a possibility.

Saturday is expected to have a high temperature of 49 degrees and a 100 percent chance of rainfall, mainly before 5 p.m. Rainfall totals should be between half and three-quarters of an inch.

“Rainfall combined with snow melt will result in minor to possibly moderate rises in area rivers and streams this weekend into early next week,” according to the National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook. ”The larger rivers and streams across the area are expected to remain below bankfull, but the increase flow will cause ice to break up and move during this time.
