PATCH: What background or professional experience qualifies you for the job?
NOHA SADANY: I hold a master’s degree in English and secondary education from Sweden, where I grew up. Since 2018, I’ve worked as an English as a second language (ESL) teacher in Bergen and Essex County, and now also serve as an academic interventionist where I advocate and support struggling readers and writers and bridge achievement gaps in both ELA and math. I recently completed my supervisor certification and am in the final year of my second master’s degree in educational leadership. I am also a parent of three children attending West Orange schools, giving me a personal understanding of the needs and priorities of families in our community. I strongly believe in the adage, “it takes a village,” and know that the success of our schools depends on collaboration among educators, families, and all community stakeholders. As both a parent and an educator, I am well-positioned to help the board seek solutions that serve the needs of our entire school community.

PATCH: What is your campaign platform? What are your priorities if elected?
NOHA SADANY: First, I believe in fiscal responsibility that does not compromise student support. We must protect essential services while making thoughtful, transparent decisions that prioritize the needs of our students.
Second, I am passionate about strengthening academic excellence through evidence-based instruction. That includes supporting teachers and supervisors, especially those new to the profession, through high-quality coaching and professional development. It also means ensuring that our curriculum is aligned with state standards and grounded in proven research—such as the science of reading.
Finally, I am deeply committed to a school culture that is safe, equitable and inclusive. I will work to close opportunity gaps and ensure our staff, curriculum, and leadership reflect the rich diversity of our student body. Every child deserves to learn in a safe, welcoming, and affirming school environment.
PATCH: What is one thing that always makes you smile when you think about the West Orange Public School District?
NOHA SADANY: What makes me smile about the West Orange Public School District is the way we come together as a family. When our students or staff achieve something great, we celebrate as a community, and when challenges arise, we support one another with compassion and care. That spirit of unity and genuine concern is what makes our district so special—and it makes me happy that my children are part of this.
