There are four candidates competing for two open seats on the West Orange Board of Education. The candidates are: Adam Kraemer, Jeffrey Lichtman, Brian Rock and Eric Stevenson.

PATCH: What are your qualifications to run for office?

AK: “I have worked in education and the business world. I hold two masters degrees in education from Teachers College - Columbia University, and in conjunction with my wife, I have raised a set of triplets to be successful, 21-year-old young adults.”
PATCH: What is your campaign platform if elected?
AK: “Controlling spending outside the classroom, [and] holding administrators, teachers and students accountable for learning. Changing how we run the buses, merit pay for employees, building a pre-school by convincing the town to sell the golf course to a developer with a small carveout to put the school on.”
PATCH: What is one thing that always makes you smile about the West Orange school district?
AK: “The marching band is really good.”
