Williams Re-Elected To West Orange Council, Bryant And Ivker Win BOE Seats: Election Results Certified

The 2025 election results have been certified in West Orange. Here's the final tally.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Tammy Williams has been re-elected to the West Orange Town Council, and two candidates have captured seats on the West Orange Board of Education: Dia Bryant and Robert Ivker.

A highly watched governor race brought many West Orange residents to the polls on Nov. 4. But there were plenty of other choices for local voters to make in the 2025 general election.

With 100 percent of districts reported and the results certified on Wednesday, here are the final tallies, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:

TOWN COUNCIL

West Orange residents voted in a special election to fill an unexpired term for Asmeret Ghebremicael, who resigned earlier this year. The candidates were: Tammy Williams, Kenneth Gibbons, David Allan-Matheson, Jerry Companion, Jennifer Stacey Iorio, Bill Rutherford, and Justin Goldsman.

Williams, a former council president, won the race by more than 800 votes and has claimed victory. Here are the official results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

  • Tammy Williams – 4,497 votes (25.28%)
  • Kenneth Gibbons – 1,919 votes (10.79%)
  • David Allan-Matheson – 842 votes (4.73%)
  • Jerry Companion – 999 votes (5.62%)
  • Jennifer Stacey Iorio – 2,274 votes (12.78%)
  • Bill Rutherford – 3,600 votes (20.24%)
  • Justin Goldsman – 3,657 votes (20.56%)

BOARD OF EDUCATION

Four candidates competed for two open seats on the West Orange Board of Education. Terms last for three years. The candidates were: Robert Ivker, Dia N. Bryant, Susan Palmucci, and Noha Sadany.

Bryant and Ivker have captured seats on the board. Both candidates have claimed victory on social media posts. Here are the official results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

  • Robert Ivker – 7,005 votes (27.47%)
  • Dia N. Bryant – 7,870 votes (30.86%)
  • Susan Palmucci – 5,423 votes (21.26%)
  • Noha Sadany – 5,206 votes (20.41%)
