Young Filmmakers' Festival Premiering at Edison National Historical Park

The annual New Jersey Young Filmmakers' Festival will premiere in West Orange this weekend.

The 41st annual New Jersey Young Filmmakers’ Festival will premier in West Orange at the Thomas Edison National Historical Park at the end of this month.

The premiere will take place on Saturday, May 30, at the park, located at 211 Main St., at 3 p.m. The premiere will feature an awards ceremony and screenings of winning selections choseb by an accomplished jury of filmmakers and media professionals, according to a release from New Jersey City University (NJCU).

The Young Filmmakers’ Festival is a project of the Thomas A. Edison Media Arts Consortium, an independent, non-profit organization operating in association with the NJCU Department of Media Arts, according to the release. The Young Filmmakers’ Festival acknowledges emerging students in New Jersey and provides them, who either reside or attend school in the state, with opportunities to screen their works and have them be evaluated by professionals.

Past events at the Young Filmmakers’ Festival included green screen production and editing workshops at NJCU, and screenings and awards programs at the Hoboken Historical Museum, NJCU, and the AMC Theater in West Orange, according to the release from NJCU.
