Middlesex County 4-H Haunted House and Hayride: The Middlesex County 4-H Haunted House and Hayride takes place every Friday and Saturday in October at the 4-H Center, located at 645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, from 7 pm to 10:30 pm.

Guests are invited to experience a night of thrills and fun at this family-friendly event, which features a haunted house and a hayride. Tickets are required to attend. Buy tickets at the door. Every Friday and Saturday night in October.

Middlesex County 4-H Open House: Middlesex County 4-H and the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County invites the community to the 4-H Open House on Sunday, October 6, from 1-3 p.m. at the 4-H Youth Center located at 645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Attendees will be able to learn about the 4-H program, explore available clubs, and discover how to get involved as adult volunteers. 4-H fosters youth development through citizenship, healthy living, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) initiatives.
"Hometown Pride: The Power of Sports" at The Cornelius Low House Museum.
The exhibit’s opening day is Sunday, October 6, from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Cornelius Low House Museum located at 1225 River Road, Piscataway. This exhibit will feature a wide array of memorabilia, highlighting the County’s rich sports history — from Little League triumphs to high school and college victories, and the accomplishments of Olympians, paralympians and professional athletes, all of whom hail from Middlesex County.
The exhibit commemorates Middlesex County’s sports legacy, including the first-ever college football game between Rutgers and Princeton. With various sports represented, the exhibit has something to inspire and engage all ages.
'The Princess Bride:' An Inconceivable Evening in New Brunswick with Cary Elwes Oct. 19:
State Theatre New Jersey presents "'The Princess Bride:' An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes" on Saturday, October 19 at 8 p.m. After a screening of the iconic movie, "The Princess Bride," actor Cary Elwes (Westly) will engage in a moderated discussion for a behind-the-scenes look at life on and off the set of the classic film. Fall Harvest Festival: Come to the East Jersey Old Town Village for the first-ever Middlesex County Fall Harvest Festival!
Over two weekends — October 25-27 and November 1-3 — the Village will be open for extended hours.
Enjoy and explore The Village grounds and meet their living history interpreters. Participate in seasonal activities and children’s crafts. There will also be free wagon rides to a pumpkin patch where visitors can pick pumpkins. This FREE event is open to everyone.
There will be outdoor food vendors, and the General Store gift shop will have extended hours with pies, cider, donuts, homemade jelly, and other seasonal treats!
