Woodbridge Twp. Menorah Lighting Set For Thursday

Rabbi Vicki Axe from Temple Emanu-El will deliver a message on the meaning of Chanukah. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge will host a menorah lighting and Hanukkah celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on the steps of Woodbridge Town Hall at One Main Street.

Rabbi Vicki Axe from Temple Emanu-El will deliver a message on the meaning of Chanukah and there will be a lighting of the menorah. There will be refreshments and gifts (traditional dreidels and gelt) in the municipal council meeting room following the celebration.

Chanukah, the Hebrew word meaning “dedication” is celebrated for eight days in the Hebrew month of Kislev, which typically occurs in mid to late-December. One candle on the Woodbridge Township Menorah is lit each night of Chanukah.
