Carteret Man, 22, Accused Of Fatal Shooting In That Town March 12

Police say Javon Robinson, 22, of Carteret, shot and killed Evan Blozen, 23, also of Carteret.

CARTERET, NJ — A Carteret man has now been charged with the fatal shooting that occurred in that town on March 12.

Police say Javon Robinson, 22, of Carteret, shot and killed Evan Blozen, 23, also of Carteret.

The alleged murder took place at approximately 9:57 p.m. March 12, when police were called to the area of Roosevelt Avenue for a 911 call of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim who sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for treatment.

Blozen died at the hospital.

Robinson was arrested in Carteret early Thursday. He was taken into police custody without incident and is charged with first-degree murder and illegal gun charges.

This case was investigated by Sergeant Luis Maldonado of the Carteret Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s office.
