Cause of Saturday Route 1 Accident is Still a Mystery
No one knows exactly what happened to cause a horrific accident on Route 1, except that a man is dead.
The cause of a car crash that took the life of a Woodbridge man Saturday is still under investigation.
Andrew Teneta, 25, of Avenel died in a single car crash on Route 1 South in Woodbridge on April 20, said Woodbridge Police Captain Roy Hoppock.
Teneta was traveling on the roadway at approximately 1:45 pm when his vehicle struck a utility pole at the entrance right before the Sports Authority. Hoppock said police do not know the cause of the crash.

An impromptu memorial has been set up at a utility pole where Teneta died.
A Sports Authority employee who was working Saturday said that Teneta was driving very fast when he crashed into the pole. "The car was in pieces," the employee said.

Traffic on the normally busy road was tied up for some time.
Hoppock said the crash is still under investigation.
