Child Ballet Dancers Wanted for Auditions Today

Got a young ballerina in the family? Today maybe be her - or his - lucky day.

Ballet with a Twist wil be holding dance auditions for ballet students ages 6 to 9. The auditions are today, April 13, from 9 am to 2 pm at The Loft inside the Union County Performing Arts Center at 1601 Irving Street in Rahway.from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.

Those auditioning should demonstrate an ability to learn choreography in a professional setting, and be available for several rehearsals in Rahway throughout April and May.

Selected dancers will perform at the Rahway Train Station Plaza during the family-friendly event Hot Rods and Harleys on May 11th. They will then join the company for its spring season at Hamilton Stage on May 17, 18, and 19.

Children will dance alongside company members in choreographer Marilyn Klaus' "Mint Julep," a nostalgic depiction of Kentucky Derby traditions, and "Margarita," an enchanting homage to Mayan mythology.
