Former WHS Football Star Cleared on Sexual Assault Charges

Praise Martin-Oguike had a number of charges filed against him related to an alleged sexual assault at Temple University.

Praise Martin-Oguike, a former Woodbridge High School football standout, has been cleared of rape charges filed against him in Philadelphia last year.

According to a report on NJ.com, the charges were filed while Martin-Oguike was a freshman at Temple University.

On May 26 of last year, a 21-year-old female student went to police claiming she had been attacked in her dorm room, according to the report.

Charges of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault and simple assault were filed against Martin-Oguike, but they were dismissed. His trial was set to begin on Monday, according to the report.

A number of additional charges filed against him were dismissed last year, according to the report.

Martin-Oguike was suspended from Temple pending the results of the case, according to the report. A university spokesman is quoted as saying that he is not currently registered.
