LETTER: Connection between Perth Amboy & Woodbridge is Troubling
Robert Sottilaro says Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz "can't get enough of the Woodbridge crew."

To the Editor:
Who is the Perth Amboy mayor?
When the Democrats met to select an assembly member to the state
legislature a few years ago, Wilda Diaz was pushing for M. E. Rodriguez, an
excellent candidate. The vote went for Craig Coughlin from Woodbridge.

Diaz said she would never back the Democrats to the assembled Perth Amboy
committee members and Democratic supporters, that evening at the Forge.
She felt betrayed by Woodbridge and started the division in the Democratic
Party in Perth Amboy. Now she can’t get enough of the Woodbridge crew.

Three positions are open on the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the so-called mayor did not have a candidate to present from Perth Amboy at the official Democratic Party Convention, instead allowing Woodbridge to have a free run at the positions. Diaz claims that Perth Amboy deserves to be at the table and be represented in the County yet does nothing for Perth Amboy except arrange for a group who have lost every election to run against the duly elected Democratic candidates for freeholder.
Also, Diaz claims that some Democrats were backing a former Republican in the last election who switched to be a Democrat while she has backed Maria Garcia, a former Republican, and Kenneth Gonzales, a former head of the Republican Party, both who switched from the Republican Party
in the hopes of getting elected in Perth Amboy.
Diaz also had Christie (R) as the main speaker at her first swearing in and has hired two Republicans to run the City. Does she not see the hypocrisy in her actions and statements?
Diaz is constantly using Joseph Vitale, from Woodbridge, Blunda (R) and Fehrenbach (R) to do her talking. Is she planning on running in Woodbridge as a Republican or as a Democrat? Or does Diaz want to make Perth Amboy another Ward of Woodbridge Township?
What has she been promised by the so called “powers that be” in this area or the State? Also, what has she promised Bob McCoy, whom she fired, and Miguel Morales, who mounted a recall of her a few years ago, for their support?
