Longtime Woodbridge Police Lt. Dies Suddenly, Mourned By Town
Woodbridge Police Lieutenant Rich Hardish died unexpectedly this week.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A longtime member of the Woodbridge Police Department died unexpectedly this week.
The officer is Woodbridge Police Lieutenant Rich Hardish. His death was announced Thursday night by the Woodbridge Police Dept. on their Facebook page. Woodbridge Police called his death "untimely."
"It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the untimely passing of Woodbridge Police Lieutenant Rich Hardish," wrote the department. "Lt. Hardish was a dedicated public servant, respected leader and beloved member of the community whose commitment to duty and unwavering integrity left a lasting impact on all who knew him."

"His sudden loss is felt profoundly by his family, friends and fellow officers. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time."

Hardish had been a Woodbridge Police officer for 30 years. His family lived in the Hopelawn section. His cause of death was not immediately revealed.
