Major Water Main Break Shuts Down Rt. 35 In Woodbridge
Rt. 35 is closed in both directions for emergency water main repairs in Woodbridge. It will remain closed through the evening commute:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The NJ Department of Transportation just announced at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday that Rt. 35 is closed and detoured in both directions for emergency water main repairs in Woodbridge.
The road, a major artery, will be closed through the evening commute and expect heavy traffic delays, warned the DOT.
The broken water main is located between Florida Grove Road and Main Street in Woodbridge.

The water main broke around 1:15 p.m. between Cricket Lane and the Rt. 35 bridge over the New Jersey Turnpike in Woodbridge. Rt. 35 is only open for local businesses and residents.
Crews are on scene and are working to make the necessary repairs. The following Route 35 detours will remain in place until further notice:

Route 35 northbound detour:
- Motorists on Route 35 northbound will be directed to turn left on Florida Grove Road/CR655 westbound
- Turn right on Route 184/Pfeiffer Boulevard
- Take the ramp to Route 9 northbound
- Take the exit for Main Street
- Turn right on Main Street back to Route 35
Route 35 southbound detour:
- Motorists on Route 35 southbound will be directed to turn right on Main Street
- After crossing under Route 9, turn left to take the ramp to Route 9 southbound
- Take the exit for Route 184 eastbound
- Turn left on Florida Grove Road/CR 655 eastbound back to Route 35
