Man, 23, Killed In Carteret Shooting Tuesday Night: Prosecutor

Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office looks for leads in the death of Evan Blozen, who died after being shot in Carteret.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A fatal shooting Tuesday night of a 23-year-old man in Carteret is under investigation by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden, the prosecutor said.

On March 12, at approximately 9:57 p.m., authorities went to the area of Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret following a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving, officers found a man with gunshot wounds. He was Evan Blozen, 23, of Carteret, according to authorities.

He was brought to Raritan Bay Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital, authorities said.

Authorities said an initial investigation shows that this does not appear to be a random act of violence and there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
