Meet Della Pietro, Anderson, Mohammed Running For Woodbridge BOE
Della Pietro and Anderson ask voters to re-elect them to the Woodbridge BOE, joined by Mohammed. Learn about these three candidates:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Woodbridge school board election will be Nov. 7 this year, and longtime board members Frank Della Pietro III and Marie Anderson seek re-election.
They will be joined by Nazam Mohammed. All three are running on the Improving Our Schools slate.
This is the slate endorsed by Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac, a Democrat. Also running for Woodbridge school board in 2023 is Tom Maras - Education, Never Indoctrination. Also running is Thomas Della Sala.

The election is Nov. 7. Voters will be asked to choose three.

Frank Della Pietro
Resides in Fords with his wife, Linda. Frank’s three daughters all graduated from Woodbridge Public Schools.
Frank, since joining the board in 2011, has led numerous safety improvements, notably recruiting the "After the Fire" program to schools to teach fire safety. His experience in fire incident command aided his leadership as Board President during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He is a past BOE President and has worked as a Fords Fire Department Firefighter, EMT and Fire Prevention Official since 1991. He also works as a Fire Service Instructor for the Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville since 2000.
Marie Anderson
Resides in Avenel with her husband, Jim. She is a graduate of JFKMHS and has two sons who attended Woodbridge Schools.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University and her master’s in healthcare administration (MHA) from Seton Hall University.
She is the director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Hackensack Meridian Health and was previously a school Business Administrator at a private school for children with autism. In June 2020, Anderson spearheaded the creation of the Woodbridge school district's brand-new Equity Commission to address districtwide issues on diversity, equity and inclusion.
She is a past Board President and member of the Board of Education since 2015. She has served as Chairwoman of Athletics & Extracurricular and the Cafeteria Committee.
Nazam Mohammed
Resides in Iselin with his wife, Alisha. Their two children graduated from JFK Memorial HS and now both have successful careers in the health profession.
Mohammed is a CPA and auditor. For over a decade, he has owned and operated NZM Accounting & Consulting Services, LLC, which specializes in tax compliance, accounting services and business planning.
He has a passion for teaching and for the past 17 years has been an adjunct professor at Hudson County Community College, where he teaches accounting and other business courses to undergraduates.
For the past 14 years, Nazam also works at Rutgers University in the Office for Research as Assistant Director, where he oversees Financial Compliance, Audit and Training.
