The League of Women Voters is proud to announce that the following graduating seniors have been awarded the $1,000 Schmiedel family scholarship award:

  • Rachel Yushan, Egg Harbor Twp High School
  • Lyla Brown, Egg Harbor Twp High School
  • Desiree Moore, Egg Harbor Twp High School

The scholarship recognizes their outstanding participation in the nonpartisan, civics curriculum, Energizing Young Voters, an initiative of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey.

Each awardee created a social media campaign that reflects the core goals of the Energizing Young Voters program: Fostering civic awareness, encouraging informed participation in elections and defending democracy through nonpartisan educational efforts.
