Pole Dancing Fitness Studio Opens on Main Street
Pole to Pole Fitness occupies a second floor studio at 53 Main Street.
Woodbridge resident Jennifer Hall opened Pole to Pole fitness on Main Street in Woodbridge this February offering small pole dancing fitness classes, private lessons and group parties.
Hall, a New Yorker, received a package for pole dancing classes from her husband as a gift and really enjoyed it. Once she moved to Woodbridge she was searching for a pole dancing studio but could not find anything nearby.
Hall felt there was a need for a studio and decided to open one of her own while still attending classes in New York until she found a location in Woodbridge. She works as an executive assistant in a New York hospital daily, takes classes for her MBA and then runs Pole to Pole on the nights and weekends.
Pole to Pole is a non-judgment zone, Hall told Patch and it’s for women of all shapes and sizes.
“Pole dancing is no longer just exotic entertainment,” Hall said. “But it has become a fitness craze and a way for women to tap into their inner goddess.”
Since opening, the response has been really good, Hall said. She added that she is still unsure of her target demographic because she has been seeing women in their 20’s and even those in their 50’s.
Each woman’s first class is complimentary, because Hall said she would not expect someone to sign up without ever trying it. She added that women have a lot of fun doing pole fitness, but then the following morning they will wake up feeling sore.
“It’s actually one of the best fitness activities,” she said. “It’s a lot of toning and core conditioning.”
Currently Hall holds classes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, as well as Saturdays and Sundays. She recently hired more instructors to work over more days.
Right now, Hall has many beginner classes that focus on climbing, spin and conditioning. She also will be adding strength and conditioning classes. The studio purposely only holds up to five students for classes, but for parties it can hold up to 10. So far, Hall said she has held tons of parties in the studio.
