Police Offer Reward For Information On Woodbridge Area Murder

A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a Perth Amboy man on December 7.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Anthony A. Caputo, chairman and president of Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc., announced on December 24 that a reward is being offered to anyone who anonymously provides information that leads to an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a Perth Amboy man more than two weeks ago.

The reward is being offered as an investigation continues into the death of Jean Carlos Morel, 26. Morel was pronounced dead at approximately 6:40 p.m. on December 7, 2014, after police were dispatched to his second-floor apartment on Smith Street in Perth Amboy.

An autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined today that the victim had been fatally stabbed.

No arrests have been made, but an investigation is continuing.

Those who call will be given instructions on how to collect cash rewards by using a numerical code that will be recognized by a local bank, which will pay the rewards following approval by Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc.
