Rainfall Totals For Middlesex County After Ida: NWS

Some parts of Middlesex County got more than 8 inches of rain Wednesday as Tropical Depression Ida blew through.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ—Some parts of Middlesex County got more than 8 inches of rain Wednesday as Tropical Depression Ida blew through, the National Weather Service reported.

At least 25 people in the Garden State died as rain lashed the region, causing major flooding and hazardous driving conditions. Three people have died in Middlesex County.

The National Weather Service also confirmed three tornadoes in New Jersey.

Carteret had the highest rainfall total in the county, with 9.1 inches. South Plainfield got 9 inches of rain.

Part of New Brunswick saw 8.3 inches of rain, while a gauge in Middlesex reported 8.28 inches. Hopelawn got 8.17 inches of rain.

Rainfall in Woodbridge measured 7.96 inches, and in Edison 6.52 inches.
