Serious New Year's Day Crash On Rt. 1 At Woodbridge Center Drive

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — There was a two-car collision just before dawn on New Year's Day on Rt. 1 in Woodbridge.

The crash happened at 4:40 a.m. at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Woodbridge Center Drive, said Woodbridge Police Lt. Brian Murphy.

The crash was so serious that one of the drivers was trapped in their car, and had to be extricated by Woodbridge firefighters.

Both drivers survived, and no charges were immediately filed. Woodbridge Police declined to release the ages of the drivers, or what towns they reside in. The crash remains under investigation.
