Who’s Teaching? Board of Ed High School Appointments for 2013-14

Although it is still summer, back-to-school is looming and Woodbridge Patch is taking a look at some of the new appointments by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for next school year.

Are the kids excited about their teachers next year? Here’s a look at some new additions to Township’s High Schools.

Colonia High School

• Alisha Davison will be teaching at Colonia H.S. Davison holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.
  
  
• Cynthia DiChiara will be a department supervisor for the Colonia H.S. English department. DiChiara holds a Master’s degree and has 11 years experience. Her salary will be $95,859.
  
  
• Brian Long will be teaching English at Colonia H.S.  Long holds a Bacehlor’s degree and this is his first year teaching. His salary will be $52,269.
  
  
• Jamison Panko will be the acting vice principal at Colonia High. Panko holds a Master’s degree+32 and has 11 years experience. His salary will be $122,517.
  
  
• Pellegrino LaSala will be the athletic department supervisor at CHS. LaSala holds a Master’s degree and has 25 years experience. His salary will be $114,140.

John F. Kennedy Memorial High School

• Walter Baginsky will be a department supervisor at JFK. Baginsky holds a Master’s degree+16 and seven years experience. His salary will be $96,727.
  
  
• Kristina Gulics will be a social studies teacher at JFK. Gulics holds a Master’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $55,924.
  
  
• Erin Leahy will be a substance abuse counselor at JFK. Leahy holds a Master’s degree and this is her first year in the position. Her salary will be $64,313.
  
  
• Vivanna Acuna-Francisco will be an art teacher at JFK. Acuna-Francisco holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.
  
  
• Wade Pratt will be an English teacher at JFK. Pratt holds a Bachelor’s degree and has two years experience. His salary will be $54,493.
  
  
• Dawn Santana will be a Family Cons. Science teacher at JFK. Santana holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.

Woodbridge High School

• Margaret Kashidas will be a PE/Health teacher at WHS. Kashidas holds a Master’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $55,924.
  
  
• Jacquelyn McDonald will be a math teacher at WHS. McDonald holds a Master’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $55,924.
  
  
• Steven Caroscio will be taking over retired Lee Warren’s spot as principal of WHS. Caroscio holds a Master’s degree and has 13 years experience. His salary will be $146,984.
  
  
• Matthew Connelly will be acting vice principal at WHS. Connelly holds a Master’s degree+16 and has 13 years experience. His salary will be 121,650.
  
  
• Abdulsaleem Hasan will be vice principal at WHS. Hasan holds a Master’s degree+32 and three years experience. His salary will be $118,683.

The average beginning teacher salary in New Jersey is $44,872 and the average teaching salary is $63,111, according to the National Education Association.
