Avenel Woman Killed In Carteret Crash Was Returning From Her Parents' House

This was the fatal accident that occurred at 9:55 p.m. Jan. 11, a Saturday​, on the West Carteret bridge on Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This GoFundMe page has now been launched for the young woman from Avenel who was killed in a car accident Jan. 11.

The woman who died was Cristina Flores 34. The accident occurred at 9:55 p.m. on that date, a Saturday, on the West Carteret Bridge on Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret. Flores was driving an Infiniti when her car made contact with a Toyota Camry, driven by a 23-year-old man from Carteret.

Both drivers were seriously injured; Flores was pronounced dead at the scene. The Carteret man was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and survived.

"On Saturday, January 11th, our beloved Cristina was tragically taken from us in a devastating car accident," read the GoFundMe page. "She was leaving her parents’ house in Carteret, NJ, and heading to her home in Avenel where she resided with her grandparents. This sudden and heartbreaking loss has left our family shattered, struggling to cope with the profound pain of her absence."

"Cristina was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, and friend who radiated warmth and kindness wherever she went," the page continued. "Her smile could brighten any room, and her love for her family, friends was boundless. She brought so much joy and light into the lives of everyone she touched, and her presence will be deeply missed."
