Woodbridge Girl, 15, Sues South Jersey Amusement Park
Gia Mastroserio claims she suffered severe injuries in a 2011 accident on the Sea Dragon ride in Wildwood.

During a summer trip down to Wildwood in August 2011, 13-year-old Gia Mastroserio, of Woodbridge, took a ride on Morey’s Piers Sea Dragon, when part of a tall steel pole fell on her, according to Philly.com.
Mastroserio, now 15, is suing Morey’s Piers for the accident, which her lawyer said could have been prevented since the Sea Dragon manufacturers, Chance Rides Inc., had warned parks to remove or inspect that same pole, Philly.com reported. She claims she suffered “severe and sustainable injury” from the Aug. 19, 2011 incident.
Her lawyer Michael Dansky of Marlton claimed in the lawsuit Mastroserio will require extensive medical care, tests and treatments for her injuries, according to the report. It also states she suffers "pain ... suffering, scarring, disfigurement, loss of independence, mental anguish, humiliation [and] the inability to enjoy the normal activities and pleasures of life."
However, a spokesman from Chance Rides, which is not being sued since it issued warnings to remove the pole, is claiming that she is leading a happy, athletic life based on posts on her Twitter account, the report said.
On Aug. 12, Mastroserio tweeted "Volleyball Tryouts" and her Twitter profile states that she participates in volleyball, softball and cheerleading.
