Motorcyclist Evades Police in High-Speed Chase

A Woodbridge police officer observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed with an unreadable license plate Tuesday night near Crows Mill Road in Fords, officials said.

Once the officer turned on his lights, the motorcycle slowed down but then quickly accelerated and took off leading the officer on a high-speed chase at about 7:30 p.m.

The Woodbridge Officer pursued the motorcycle onto Interstate 287 to Route 27 and then back onto I-287, according to Police Capt. Roy Hoppock.

The motorcycle then exited I-287 at Judy Road in Perth Amboy, where the officer lost sight of the vehicle and was unable to identify the driver.
