Woodbridge Planning Board Approves 4-Story, 30-Unit Apartment Building Behind Il Castello

The Planning Board approved a 30-unit apartment building to be built in the parking lot behind Il Castello restaurant on Main Street.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — At their Dec. 10 meeting, the Woodbridge Planning Board approved a proposal from a developer to build a 30-unit apartment building behind Il Castello restaurant on Main Street, in the heart of Woodbridge proper.

The developer, identified in board documents as Isad Fetic, Inc., needed variances to build the apartment building, and the Planning Board granted them at the Dec. 10 meeting, MyCentralJersey reported.

As Patch previously reported, this will be a four-story, 30-unit apartment building at New Street and North Williams Street. Its entrance will be on New Street. It will be built on what is currently a parking lot behind the restaurant.

The building will be made up of one- and two-bedroom apartment units, with 25 market-rate rentals and five affordable units. It is being built in the Downtown Woodbridge Redevelopment Zone, which was rezoned to allow for multi-family housing and apartments.

The developer also plans to build two parking lots, one of 52 parking spaces and the second of 32 parking spaces.
