All Woodbridge Council Reps Able To Keep Their Seats In 2025 Election: Unofficial Results

While vote counts have not been certified, all current Woodbridge Council representatives have a strong lead over Republican challengers:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — While vote counts have not been certified, all current Woodbridge Council representatives have a strong lead over their Republican challengers Tuesday night.

In the 2025 Woodbridge town Council race, a slate of Republicans tried to unseat longtime Woodbridge Council members who are allies of Mayor John McCormac, a Democrat.

All Woodbridge voting precincts are now in Tuesday and, from the Middlesex County clerk, here are the election results:

For Woodbridge Council at large:

  • Current Councilman Daniel Harris, Democrat 19,399 votes (64.73%)
  • Republican Kristi Hanson 10,544 votes (35.18%)

Votes cast: 29,968

Ward 1 seat (Woodbridge proper):

  • Current Councilwoman Sharon McAuliffe, Democrat 3,962 votes (59.95%)
  • Republican Ken Gardner: 2,641 votes (39.96%)

Votes cast: 6,609

Ward 2 seat (Fords/Hopelawn):

  • Current Councilman Harold Bauer, Jr. Democrat: 3,705 votes (67.66%)
  • Paul Lund, Republican: 1,768 votes (32.29%)

Votes cast: 5,476

Ward 3 seat (Avenel):

  • Current Councilman Cory Spillar, Democrat: 3,628 votes (70.12%)
  • Bruce Banko, Republican: 1,536 votes (29.69%)

Votes cast: 5,174

Ward 4 seat (Iselin):

  • Current Councilman Virbhadra Patel, Democrat: 3,672 votes (68.46%)
  • Gnanarani "Rani" Devaraj, Republican: 1,672 votes (31.17%)
    Votes cast: 5,364

Ward 5 seat (Colonia):

  • Current Councilwoman Debbie Meehan, Democrat: 4,899 votes (64.55%)
  • Sam Raval, Republican: 2,687 (35.41%)
