1 Dead In Bergen County Fire, Others Hospitalized, Authorities Say
A Thursday evening fire claimed one Bergen County resident and hospitalized others for injuries sustained in the blaze, authorities said.
MIDLAND PARK, NJ - A Thursday evening fire claimed one Bergen County resident and hospitalized others for injuries sustained in the blaze, authorities said.
The Midland Park Police Department and Midland Park Fire Department, alongside mutual aid units, responded to the fire at 222 Franklin Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
First responders found a deceased victim on the first floor of the residence during fire suppression, the prosecutor’s office said. Additional occupants of the home were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for treatment of “unspecified injuries.”

It was not immediately clear how many of the injured were residents. The identity of the deceased man was not made available as of Friday morning.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Midland Park Police Department are currently investigating the incident.
