2013-14 Wyckoff School Calendar Approved

The Wyckoff School Board approved the proposed calendar for the 2013-14 school year. September 9 will be the first day of school.

The Wyckoff School Board approved the proposed 2013-14 school calendar on Monday night.

School is slated to start on Monday, September 9 and if all goes according to plan, the year will end on Tuesday, June 24.

“I was concerned this year with the Jewish holidays that fall early in September,” said Wyckoff resident Beth Sparozic. “If they started school on September 4 it would have been one day in school and one day out of school for many students. With the A and B days, the first days of school would have been a big issue.”

The major issues with the calendar were lining up the three major breaks with the high school calendar.

“It was important to try to get the calendars to overlap as much as possible,” said School Board President Rob Francin. “If I have a kid in high school and a kid in grammar school it could be a real mess if the calendars don’t align.”
